Default How do you treat teen mothers? Sort of a vent... - 11-26-2004, 10:56 AM

I went out at 5:30 this morning to do the sales, and once again I was faced with an attitude that I've faced through this pregnancy - at least, in the last few months where I'm quite visibly pregnant.

I'm very small, and have a young face. Most guess me to be in high school still, especially because of my height. Therefore, when people see me, and see my large pregnant belly, for some reason give me dirty looks, or snotty looks, or are just plain mean! I can only assume they think I'm a teen mother.

I can go out with my SIL who is also pregnant, and people are as sweet as pie to her - asking her when she's due, holding doors for her, just being nice....but me? I get "looks".

What do you guys think of this - if I WERE a teen mother, would you think this behavior is justified?

Not at all Even if you (you in general) have an issue with teen parents isn't giving looks to heavily pregnant teens a bit moot?

I agree. While most people don't like the idea of teen mothers, they have enough on their plate right now and noone needs to add more to it. Besides, if you don't know someone's situation, then you have no right to judge. It is a no win situation. You are looked down upon and considered immoral if you are a pregnant teen, and you are looked down upon and considered immoral if you abort.
