Are you willing to change your mind if all the facts are presented or once you make up your mind is it set in stone?

An example would be the the old vaxination debate. If you saw proof vaxing had harmful side affects would you consider not vaxing your child?

That was just a general example :)

i would like to say i am open minded
but in all honesty i am a stubborn person.
i have changed my mind about parenting issues in the past though, after weeks and weeks of dh, dd and i being miserable after she was first born i finally caved in and got her a dummy ( pacifier ) which she used until 6 months of age even though i cried every time i saw it in her mouth LOL

It would depend. I would like to say I am openminded, but if the facts presented to counter my stance were ONLY from an obviously biased site, with no studies to back it up, I am not goig to change my mind.

I've changed my mind about a few issues, usually in politics or law. An example is the death penalty.

Hmmm, I think I am open minded. I try and look at all sides of an issue and understand where someone is coming from. But, it is rare that I change my mind now. I have though, done a total flip-flop from how I use to think of things as a young adult.

An example would be the death penalty. I use to be an advocate against it in my younger years. Some harsh life lessons later and violent crime that has touched my personal life has swayed me. Now, I am all for it and wish it was implemented a lot more and a lot quicker than it is.

I am openmind, but it's just like mom2burgess said, if the info is coming from someone who is biased, then I'm not going to take their word for it...as a matter of fact, I always research things myself before i make a decision myself anyway.

If you could prove to me that my choice would have a negitave affect on my child I would change my mind, But I keep thinking the whole BF, FF babies cat fight, and I have never had it proven that FF babies is harmful, thus I eep my pig headed stance on the issue.

So Kinda both.

I have changed my mind when it was clear I was wrong or there was better information provided from reliable and unbiased sources.

I am very open minded. Sometimes too open minded. :)

I have changed my mind about a lot of things in life. Both in parenting and in life in general. With living you learn, I cant help but change in some issues and to find a stronger stance in others.

When I graduated from high school I found myself thrust into a world of differing ideas and experiences. I realized at this point that there were two ways to encounter the world. One, with a skeptical eye, with my ears open and my mind ready to learn new things. Or two, to find ways that I could support and sustain my own agenda.

I myself have had to disavow many issues that I felt strongly about. Those views were changed through experience, discussion and having an attitude of learning on my part. So I chose the first path of learning with a skeptical eye.

I am usually pretty stubborn in my ways, but if someone can present something to me where I understand a new way of looking at things, I can be persuaded to chnage my mind. I am pretty open minded if I don't know the facts, or if the right ones are presented to me. Otherwise I'm stubborn as a mule.

I would like to say that I am pretty open minded, but I too can be stupidly stubborn sometimes. But I am always willing to learn more about a subject and will change my stance depending on the information.
