I am SO happy. I found the original ANNIE on DVD yesterday. I made my kids watch it with me. This was one of my most favorite movies when I was a kid. It is bringing back such fond memories watching it again. *sigh*

It's one of my favorite movies ever, and my DREAM above ALL DREAMS is to see it on Broadway. It'll prolly never happen but I can dream :)

We have a musical theatre about 2 hours away from me, and this summer they are showing Annie, but tickets are like 60 bucks a piece so I know I won't be there :(

No, the original is the one with Carol Burnett. They released a new Annie not long ago. I haven't seen it. The orphan looks too cute to be Annie. :)

sorry, I can't stand the one with Carol Burnett, I like the newer one though with Kathy Bates and Alan Cumming. I especially like it b/c it has Andrea McArdle in it. Oh yeah, and the Annie in the newer one can SING! :D

No no no lol - the original annie it's GOT to be. It's a tad scarier, but it's a must.

I refuse to even watch the new one!!! When I was a kid, I even had an "Annie" dress just like the one she wears at the end of the movie!! Hmmm.....maybe that's where I started having a thing for red hair.....

I haven't seen the new one...I have such fond memories of the old one it's hard to think about it, although I adore Kathy Bates! I remember going and seeing E.T. one weekend and then Annie the next...:D

The new one stays truer to the Broadway version of Annie - that's what I enjoy most about it. Also, in the second movie version Alan Cummings, Kathy Bates and Kristin Chenoweth do an awesome performance of "Easy Street".

Alan Cummings...Alan Cummings...that name is familiar, what has he been in? Was he in that movie with Minnie Driver and Chris O'Donnel, what was that called..."Circle of Friends"...?
