A good portion of the nations homeless are mentally ill. They can't get assistance without an address and they can't get an address without assistance.
What do you feel the solution is?

unfortunatly I don't think there is much of a solution. I feel for them, but unfortunatly I don't think they are a priority on the lists of people who are able to do somthing about it. I wish I knew of a solution

I think we should do some sweeps and put $$ into getting them into programs that will fit for them. That means we put GOOD people on the front lines to access these people and then find them the help that they need, both physically and mentally.

Sadly - I don't believe there is much that can or will be done. I have an uncle who is homeless. While driving through Moreno Valley one year (many years ago) my dad says "Is that my brother!?". We pulled up to him, he was barefoot and had on jeans and a Just Say No shirt. My dad gave him money and offered to take him in, to help him - sadly - he is a drug addict and he didn't want the help and just wanted money for his next high.
How sad that my dad would later meet that same fate.
I just feel hopeless with these types of situations. What can be done?

I agree though I don't see this ever happening. Unfortunatly a great deal of society wants to sweep mentally ill people under the rug so they don't have to deal with them
