The word ethics does not appear in the Bible, but here are some common words in the Bible from BibleGateway.com, NIV version:

Death - 459 results; 2 Kings 19:35, That night the angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning-there were all the dead bodies!

Kill - 421 results; Revelation 9:15, And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.

Blood - 392 results; Isaiah 49:26, I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

In the Bible God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered. People in the Bible tried to force beliefs of imaginary paranormal beings onto others, and many times when they failed they killed in the name of God. A good start is the first two commandments, no others gods or idols - they result in Moses killing 3,000 friends and family in Exodus 32:27-28. David and Gideon slaughtered thousands. Jesus said in John 15:6: ?Anyone who parts from me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.? Revelation 9:15 prophesize angels will kill a third of mankind. Is mass murder a principle of right conduct?

Sacrifice - 361 results; Judges 11:30-34, And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD: "If you give the Ammonites into my hands, 31 whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the LORD 's, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering." ? 34 When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of tambourines! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter.

Slave - 165 results; Exodus 21:20-21 "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21 but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

LOL That is funny. That would be like taking our legal code and running it through a word counter and then asking if it is ethical because it mentions rape, murder, stealing.........

the Bible is condoning these actions, you don't find that in any legal code.

The legal code kidnaps and imprisons people.
The legal code murders people.
The legal code steals from people.

Don't delude yourself.

Is the bible ethical?

God is perfectly ethical, He is also Holy, the definition of Agape Love which translates to unconditional self sacrificing love. He is also a perfectly rightous God who will judge the wicked. God is perfect love and He has loved me personally. I have experienced His unconditional love in my own life so I'm not just hoping, I'm speaking of what I know that I know what I know. Selah...

The bible is not, in any way, a reasonable 'code of ethics' - and in my opinion, that even goes beyond the types of horrific UNethical examples as you post in the OP. It goes to the very basic claim of a superior being with the power to dictate "ethical" at his whim. This is one of the biggest reasons I ended up an atheist.
