This talk about Mel Gibson's movie has me thinking... do we believe in or support the arts mostly as a way of challening us, or a way of entertaining us?
It seems that most of the films that make great amounts of money are more focused on entertaining, and yet some believe that the higher purpose of the arts is to challenge, transform, and deliver us from the mess of every day life...
Any thoughts?
What movie, painting, song, etc. has changed your life or made you think differently? Or is this asking too much of a painting or a movie?
