And How much is TOO much to spend on candy?

I love candy. I like EXPENSIVE candy. Godiva, and more importantly, hand made chocolates (usually from local shops).

I bought some (been several years ago) from a local store and spent probably around $10 on about 4 or 5 pieces of candy. IF you can afford that luxery, do you indulge, or is $10 bucks for 4 or 5 pieces of candy.. just stupidly astronomical?

Let me beat someone else to the punch on this one ;)...

My Family wouldn't touch candy. And if we did, it sure wouldn't be candy that costs only $10 for a few pieces. There have been times that we have received gifts of candy that were worth well over $1,000,000 that we have eaten, but anything less is just below my family.

;)

But really. I think it all has a place. 4 or 5 pieces is still $2.50 or less a piece. Heck I've spent that on bottles of WATER!!!

Excuse me ... do you by chance have a tissue.. towel.. monitor cleaner of some sort?

I could use it, but I'm not telling you WHY!!!

And I totally agree w/ the bottled water! WTH is up with the price of that stuff? It's almost as much as FUEL!!

I figure as long as my kids have a roof over their heads and food on the table, I can indulge once in a while. I do get chocolates sometimes, but I usually go for ice cream - the kind they mix up on the slab while you are waiting with just what you want in it.

bottled water! WTH is up with the price of that stuff? My friend back in OH used to get bottled water delivered to her home, as the well water was just not real good. She swore the brand, which had 'Alaska' in the name, was the best water ever, and was worth the price. One day we looked at the source of the water, and it was from the city water supply in the suburb where we worked.

I am known for spending $6/lb on Jelly Belly jelly beans.... of course, by the time I am done picking flavors, it's up around $30 with tax for stinking jelly beans... but oh they are the best!

I also spend more on ice cream too... the kids get the cheapy chocolate, while I get the good stuff. ;)

You can buy Jelly Belly by the specific flavor at many locations. That might save you some money.

Yes KL... that is what I meant when I said "picking my flavors". I usually buy either 4 1 pound bags or get a combo of pound bags and 1/2 pound bags. :)

Big fan of Amedei Porcelana here. It only runs about 85-100 dollars per pound, but wow.

I like cheaper stuff like Lindt and Godiva as well. Prefer Lindt to Godiva actually, better consistency.

We don't do a lot of candy, so when we do, I prefer to buy the better stuff.

Amedei Porcelana Never had it.

If I am going to splurge on candy, like I said, I want the hand made stuff at local places.

There is this place in upstate New York that we go to each year when we are vacationing. It is tucked way up in the woods near Lake Placid. They have some awesome chocolate. I'm a sucker for nuts too. (Random quoter anyone? LOL) They make some the best homeade barks. Yum!

I love Lindt truffles. I vowed not to buy any again until Christmas, as I have been eating healthy and losing weight. The white ones and mint ones are way Yum:)

I don't much like American chocolate in general, but when Dan's chocolates started up online they did a promotion and DH bought some for me and they were very good, very creamy.

Grocery store chocolate -- Almond Roca is very nice (-:
I like Valhona from Cost Plus too. In fact, I like a bunch of different ones from Cost Plus.

I'm more of a caramel fiend though, so is DS#1 unfortuantly.

The best candy ever is anything from See's...and if candy is chocolate, then there is never TOO much to pay for it! LOL Seriously, I won't spend more than $20 on a box of chocolates from them.
