Are you?

Why or why not?

No.

I like things clean. I like my children clean. I like my house clean. I realize we will never be totally free of germs. I don't panic or freak out at the thought of my children playing in the dirt or like normal children.

We don't use bath towels more than once but if I didn't have a washer and dryer we may. Using them twice as long as they were hung up to dry would be ok.

I change sheets once a week unless they are obviously soiled.

IMO everything can be taken to extreme, even cleanliness.

NO, Im washable...

also, germs, even bad ones, can be good for you. Im not a firm believer in all that anitbacterial stuff.... we dont use antibacterial soap except in the bath, the hand washing soap isnt anti... its just soap. same with the dish stuff. I love bleach to clean, I also use homemade cleaners, better for the enviroment.

Not germaphobic here...

Just basic hygenic practices... wash your hands after you potty, before you eat or cook anything, and all that jazz.

No, definitely not a germaphobe. We are however, reasonably clean. I like my home clean, my children clean, my cars clean, etc.

Playing in dirt, swimming, things of that nature do not faze me in the least.

Some things are just "icky" (thanks for the "ickies" King LOL) like dirty clothes, dirty sheets, dirty refridgerators (I can not tell you how many times I have seen the inside of someone's fridge and that was the last time I ate at their house LOL), etc.

There are things that get cleaned constantly in my home, but no so much because of germs as appearances. I like things nice and neat and tidy and fresh.

I sure AM! Maybe it's because I'm diabetic, we are more prone to infection. Or maybe it's my wife's influence, she's one too. Always with the Purel, y'know? I don't like the sticky feeling Purel leaves, so I carry a bottle of isopropyl alcohol in my truck and rub it all over my hands whenever I've had to use a public restroom. I pour it on my toothbrush every time after brushing, too. Can you imagine not washing your forks and spoons every time, just rinsing and putting away? Same thing. When traveling, I use this stuff called Room Shocker I found on Amazon. You set it off and get out of the room for 3 hours. I may be a germaphobe but I'n not a drink-o-phobe, so I'll often spend the 3 hours in the bar, or going to lunch or dinner. When I come back, the room is totally germ free. We always run our dishwasher on full-blast hot, steam finish and heated dry. Screw the envronmentalists, I want sanitized dishes and flatware! I'd like to use our good silver for everyday meals, but my wife draws the line on that. Silver kills germs. They make disinfectants out of it, and any doctor will tell you REAL silverware is a good means of mitigating germs around food. I could go on and on, but I need to get back to work. Let me just give this keyboard a little schpritz of Lysol.....

Nope not a germaphobe. I wash my hands alot though. I can't stand that sticky feeling like when it's muggy. Ew. And I'm not a big fan of sweat so I take more showers in the summer then I do in the winter. Like 2-3 per day.

Yeah, this.^^ My pediatrician told me, and I have since read much to support, that America's current love affair with disinfecting everything is leaving us with a generation of children susceptible to every little common bug, and that if they don't develop a natural immunity to these by age three, they will have a lower tolerance for the rest of their lives.
I have a pretty high 'ick factor' tolerance as well, in OTHER people's houses, but I like mine clean. I refuse to give up my germ-spreading kitchen sponge in favor of clorox disinfecting wipes though, and I never even winced when the kids would have one of the dogs lick off a bloody skinned knee rather than have me break out the bactine.

Was the housewife right to rejoice in the death of the germs at the hands of the monstrous Mr. Clean? Mr. Clean wants germs wiped out. Mr. Clean is the Jesse Helms of hygiene.
