So ya wanna gain 25 pounds in a mere month? Try the "Supersize Me" diet like this guy.
What do you think? I know Mickie D's has a lot of junk to their menu but they also have some healthy choices. Fruit parfaits, a nice new selection of salads, all white meat nuggets, muffins, orange juice, milk, wraps. Do you think this was overdramatized or do you agree with the alarmist attitude of the author?

The food choices you listed would be great if people ate them. I do agree that McD's is a health trap. But people make choices. I know lots of people who eat out 3 meals a day. Maybe not at McD's but at BK, Jim Boys, or other places like that. I dont need to say that they are over weight do I?

I'll admit that the portion size is huge. The best portion size is the kids meal. however, Mcdonalds doesn't force this crap down peoples throat. They choose to eat there, they choose to take the risk. I am all about personal responsability. Just because it is offered doesn't mean youhave to take it

I do! I love the yogurt parfait, and I always get myself a Happy Meal because I get smaller portions and Ava gets the toy. And at BK, I get the veggie burger.
It's not McD's fault. People don't have to go there. I see booze every time I go to the grocery store but is it the store's fault if I buy it and turn into an alcoholic.

It's this kind of thinking that is in SHORT supply in the US. I completely agree MM!!

I totally agree with MonkeyMomma too! No one forces people to eat at foods that are "bad" for them.
I on occasion will take the girls there for ice cream but we do not eat the food.

I agree with Monkey Momma. Although Mickie D's does have some really fatening choices they do offer low fat or more 'healthy' ways to eat. Unfortunately the majority of people (yes including myself, I'm so bad) don't choose them.
I just can't believe this guy gained 25 pounds in a month. He was really negative about being overweight and said his girlfriend told him he looked 'nasty' becuase he had gained a pot belly. I thought that was rather shallow. LOL

Exactly why I seldom eat fast food. Even the healthier choices because they are still not neccessarily as healthy as the food I can fix in my home. And I only allow my dd to have fast food as a treat maybe every few months or so.

I'm not surprised that this guy gained 25 lbs. And I'm also not surprised that it made him sick.
Do ANY drastic change in diet and you have a good chance of getting sick.
He was at perfect weight and was more than likely eating vegan. Then he switches to fast food crap?

Would agree with the majority here. Is your fault if you choose to eat that stuff. Don't blame McD's or Burger King or anyone else, they are selling what people want. If people stop buying it, they will switch to what people buy.
Of course, I feel that way about most things, like books and television. I hate censorship on all levels. Let ME choose, thank you :)
